We didn't reinvent the wheel.
We write with purpose
Everything we do is driven by the belief that thoughtful storytelling helps architects connect with their audience on a deeper level.
Whether you’re describing the social value of a campus library; the technical challenges of an ESG-driven retrofit; or a sensitive addition to a historic home—a compelling narrative brings clarity to complex ideas, builds your identity, and inspires change.

We think about your audience
We recognise no two architectural projects are the same. And there might be a handful of angles you want to share, for a handful of different audiences.
We tease out the themes of what you want to communicate, and then explain your work with focus and clarity, using language your audience will understand.

We speak with truth
With the shifting focus toward Net Zero, biodiversity, and ESG comes a responsibility to accurately evidence the sustainable performance of a project.
We’re signatories of Bennett’s Associates’ ‘Anti-Greenwash Charter’, which holds us accountable for truth and transparency when talking about environmental claims.

We believe in ideas
How and what you communicate will determine whether you become a positive, inspiring influence, or a mirror image of the countless “design-led, award winning” practices.
But you don’t need a massive budget or a huge marketing team to get noticed. You just need ideas, and the bravery to pursue them.
Ideas can make people feel. They can define your values. They can speak to the head, and they can speak to the heart. Ideas make you different.

we work with clients who inspire us
Practices with energy. With drive. With purpose. Practices that design places to make a positive difference—and not just to profit margins. That create enduring beauty, lasting impact, and sometimes, a touch of the sublime.
And of course, practices that understand the power of words to make things happen.

Meet the founder
I believe architects are unfairly undervalued because too few people understand what they do, and how design influences our daily lives. I also believe a cause of this is poor storytelling; information without emotion, glossy visuals lacking in narrative, and jargon in place of everyday language. All of these leave readers unable to relate and the profession feeling inaccessible.
But it doesn’t have to be this way. After ten years as a copywriter and strategist for leading practices in the UK and Canada, I founded StoreyBoard with two goals; to help architects connect with clients through compelling storytelling, and in turn, make the profession more accessible to the wider public.
Central to my work is a fascination with how thoughtful design enhances our wellbeing, especially when connected to nature. I'm also interested in adaptive reuse, driven not only by the curiosity of the stories historic buildings have to tell, but also how we can balance heritage and climate urgency.
